Our Scotties

Hitchcock was born 22nd August 2007 and lived until 21st December 2019. He was really a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ dog and the reason why we made this film: he was the first Scottish Terrier ever to qualify for an international agility competition and ran astonishingly successful international agility competitions in his life. This inspired many people to engage with their dogs in mental activities which enriched the bond between the humans and animals in unimaginable ways.

Hitch was a highly intelligent and very sensitive dog.He was fast not only in his movement, but also in his mind. Thanks to his quirks, Bettina developed into a better dog trainer to help him to become a stable and happy dog (see training). His nicknames were "Hitch", "Wussel" and "Wurm"

Finnlay was born 5th July 2013 and is our cuddly bear. He is such a kind dog to all humans. If you met him in daily life, you would not believe how much energy he can rustle up if it's about agility. He may seem lazy and you may think he is an old dog, but as soon as he knows it’s agility time, he has tremendous energy.. He screams loudly before he’s allowed to start and barks all during the run. He adores tug-of-war games!

His nicknames are "Finn", "Fidibus" and "Babylon"

Islay (say "Eye-la") is named after the Scottish "Isle of Islay" and was born 30th May 2017. She is a completely adorable, crazy and sweet dog. She is highly intelligent and sometimes a little bit psycho...! She is our police officer. She always has to know what's going on and then give the world her opinion on it. She is very loud on the agility course and it's astonishing how far she can be sent to do the obstacles on her own.

Her nicknames are "Wibo", because she is not really girly like and "Gumsle" and "Scheese", which are swiss german words that can't be translated :-)

Riley has the same mother as Islay (Marie). He was born 29th May 2018. Riley is a charming boy who wants to do things right and is a real "thinker". He is the only of the dogs not barking whilst running in agility but when he is very excited, he growls and roars before take off. He is a sensitive little guy and his self-confidence needs to be boosted a bit sometimes.. As soon as he’s reassured that he is "the best", he performs brilliantly!

His nicknames are "Mando", "Mandolin" - which comes from "little man".
